The following is very serious and important information on burning candles in general as well as some special considerations needed for burning gel candles in particular.

We want all of our customers to educate themselves on how to “PROPERLY” burn their candles whether it be our candles or not. We have families too and wouldn’t want to place anyone in jeopardy by burning any candle improperly! It is very important not only for everyone’s safety but for the quality of the burn your candle will provide! If burned properly most candles will burn safe however be aware that there are candles out there being made improperly and thus will not burn properly and WILL NOT BE SAFE TO BURN! So please take candle safety seriously and always, always burn safe! And remember “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!”

 

SO PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS & TIPS FOR SAFE & PROPER CANDLE BURNING!

 

GENERAL SAFETY

· NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNATTENDED!!! This cannot be stressed enough, do not leave your home with a candle left burning period!

· KEEP ALL CANDLES BURNING OR NOT AWAY FROM CHILDREN & PETS! All candles are made with some type of chemical so ingestion of them can cause illness!

· DO NOT PLACE BURNING CANDLES NEAR FLAMMABLE OBJECTS! Placing a burning candle near a set of window drapes for example can cause a fire!

· PLACE CANDLES ON A HEAT TOLERABLE SURFACE! Do not place burning candles on surfaces that are capable of burning as candles burn at temperatures ranging from 180-280 degrees!

· KEEP WICKS TRIMMED TO 1/4” AT ALL TIMES! Before each light the wick needs to be trimmed down to 1/4” in order to have a proper size flame!

· ALWAYS ALLOW CANDLE TO COOL BEFORE RE-LIGHTING OR TRIMMING WICK! This will allow the candle to burn properly every time you light it!

· NEVER BURN ANY CANDLE FOR LONGER THAN 4 HOURS AT A TIME! This can cause the candle to become too hot and not burn properly!

· ALWAYS BURN A NEW CANDLE, ESPECIALLY GEL CANDLES, FOR AT LEAST 1 HR. ON THE 1st BURN! This will allow the candle to develop a proper burn pool and temperature!

· NEVER BURN A GLASS JAR CANDLE THAT HAS A CRACK OR IS BROKEN! This can cause the candle to “fall apart” and spill all over whatever it is sitting on!

· NEVER HANDLE OR PICK UP A BURNING CANDLE! Always allow the candle to cool properly before handling!

· KEEP ALL CANDLES AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND DRAFTS! Direct sunlight can cause candles to fade in color, melt, and/or burn improperly! Placing a candle near a drafty window can cause the flame to blow uncontrollably!

· NEVER MODIFY OR CHANGE THE WICK ASSEMBLY FOR ANY REASON! This can cause the candle to burn improperly and can cause problems!

· ALWAYS BLOW OUT CANDLE IF IT REACHES THE WICK TAB & DOESN’T GO OUT BY ITSELF LIKE IT SHOULD! Watch when the candle gets down to the bottom and if it doesn’t go out by itself when it reaches the top of the wick tab, the neck of the wick, then blow it out yourself!

· ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BURN SAFE AND DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY!!!
